The Scoop is all you need to know about what's going on within the Westerville Student Ministries. Every Tuesday, a new Scoop will be posted on the website. In each issue, you will find upcoming events, a message outline for that week's Awakening, upcoming birthdays, prayer requests, weekly devo, and possibly articles from some students. If you want to keep connected each week, and can't rely on your students to tell you the necessary info, be sure to download The Scoop every week. | |

Picture the youth ministry like a pyramid with God at the top of the pyramid. At the bottom of the pyramid are fun, large group activities where very little spiritual growth takes place, if any. Moving up one level you have The Awakening where more spiritual growth takes place. The next level up would be LIFE Groups where more spiritual growth takes place. Closer to the top would be a one-on-one Mentorship between a student and adult leader where more spiritual growth takes place. And at the very top would be the student alone with God and the Bible where the most spiritual growth takes place. As you can see, the smaller the audience, the more the spiritual growth. Our goal and philosophy within WSM is to get each student to the top of the pyramid.
| Westerville Student Ministries exists to provide an environment where students come to KNOW Jesus, GROW deeper by studying the Bible and CONNECTING with other believers, SHOW others what they know to be the truth, and GO out to the world sharing what they know to be the truth. In striving to meet this goal, we offer many programs and activities where students can get to know other students, have fun, and grow closer to God. Our goal is to make disciples and help students make their faith their own, so that if/when they leave our ministry and their home, they will be standing on their own faith and not the faith of others. Below is an overview of our weekly ministries:
The NEW Awakening: The Awakening serves as our main youth service. The Awakening takes place every Sunday morning at 10:30. You will never know what will take place. There will be lots of fun, games, videos, some teaching time, live music, donuts, and time to get to know each other better. The Awakening will prove to be a much needed boost to start off your week.
LIFE Groups: LIFE Groups exist so that students can grow closer to God and closer to each other in the context of small groups through accountability, study, and mentoring. These groups will meet one day each week throughout the school year in homes of a group member or the leader. Attendance is very important for the success of the group. LIFE Groups consist of 4-6 students and 1 or 2 adults. Most LIFE Groups will meet on Sunday - Thursday. | |

Youth Specialties, is a youth ministry organization that is passionate about helping youth workers and parents any way they can, whether that's giving you tools and training to help you in your ministry to teens, or giving you helpful resources. We hope this newsletter will give you some encouragement, insight, and a little glimpse into your teen's world. | |
